Julia and Ash are taking over again and leading everyone in song! You’ll know the songs, but the stories they tell might be slightly different.
Siren Soirées are where we imagine what our favourite shanties might sound like if they told the stories of someone other than the men that have written and sung them so far.
Everyone is welcome, and if you’d like to re-write a shanty or bring an original, please do!

A Night at the Argyle, 7pm
Come along to the Argyle Cellar Bar where it all began! This is a ticketed, more formal show compared to our regular shanty nights. In the first half, we will do our original songs in ways you haven’t heard them before. There might even be instruments involved.
In the second half? A massive shanty singalong where you get to decide which songs we all sing together!

Edinburgh Shanty Night was founded in early 2025 by people who are passionate about communal singing and who have the experience needed to bring people together. In only a few short months, it turned into a popular night out that invites everyone to come along and sing together.
Whether you’re an experienced siren or you swear up and down you can’t carry a tune, we welcome you aboard! Sea shanties are easy to pick up, and all we ask is that you’re willing to be part of the group.
